At the close of the Constitutional Convention in 1787, Dr. James McHenry, a Maryland delegate, followed Benjamin Franklin from Independence Hall. He recorded a question asked by a lady, directed at Dr. Franklin.

The lady asked, "Well Doctor, what have we got? A republic or a monarchy?"

"A republic," replied Dr. Franklin, "if you can keep it."

How do you view the Middle East?

This Michael Ramirez cartoon captures my view in a way that words can not adequately express:

I do know that there are nice people in the Middle East. However, much of the place is simply 'toxic' in my opinion. And I don't think that many of the policy executives in the US have an adequate grasp of the place.

I agree. I was thinking more like cockroaches, but that's just me.

Have a terrific day. :)

There was a guy who ran a camera shop in Aden who was pretty nice. He had good prices, in the '60s.

The place is a rat's nest of Scoundrels. As I tried to point out, I'm not indicting everyone. However, sifting one from the other is a challenge.

As opposed to your nuanced highly educated view that they are a bunch of rats.

Wow. You should run for president.

I beg to differ, and I bet you agree with me - that they know exactly what toxicity there is in the Islam world, and the faster they can bring us to our knees, as long as they are kept in charge, it'll suit them just fine.
