At the close of the Constitutional Convention in 1787, Dr. James McHenry, a Maryland delegate, followed Benjamin Franklin from Independence Hall. He recorded a question asked by a lady, directed at Dr. Franklin.

The lady asked, "Well Doctor, what have we got? A republic or a monarchy?"

"A republic," replied Dr. Franklin, "if you can keep it."

Apologies to Great Britain

American Perspective covered a story that President Obama and his administration provided British nuclear nomenclature, numbers and other data to the Russians in order to obtain concessions for the START talks. The profoundly sad thing is that it's simply another of the Daily Outrages that we have come to expect from our apologetic, anti-British (anti-American ally) utopian socialist president.

He's sold the US down the river for shits and giggles, and it only stands to reason that he'd do the same thing to those with whom we share a special relationship. And that brings me to Wiki Leaks. As contemptible as the leakers are, I don't know how they can be held to a higher standard than Obama - who would be impeached and discharged from office for doing this is another time in America.

The US has a lot to apologize to the British people for when it comes to President Obama, that shameful cur who occupies the highest office in our land. Two weeks ago, Obama praised the French and declared that France is America's greatest ally?? Since when?

This from the Daily Mail:
Barack Obama has declared that France is America’s greatest ally, undermining Britain’s Special Relationship with the U.S.
The President risked offending British troops in Afghanistan by saying that French president Nicolas Sarkozy is a ‘stronger friend’ than David Cameron.
The remarks, during a White House appearance with Mr Sarkozy, will reinforce the widely-held view in British diplomatic circles that Mr Obama has less interest in the Special Relationship than any other recent American leader.
Mr Obama said: ‘We don’t have a stronger friend and stronger ally than Nicolas Sarkozy, and the French people.’…
Nile Gardiner, director of the Margaret Thatcher Centre For Freedom at the Heritage Foundation think-tank, said: ‘Quite what the French have done to merit this kind of high praise from the U.S. President is difficult to fathom.
Perhaps the only olive branch that I can offer to the British People is that many of us in the US don't take what Obama says as representative of how we feel. He's been just as treacherous toward the American People as he has toward the British. While that is cold comfort, it's about all that we can do at the moment.

Shameful cur. Thanks. I needed a new descriptor in my vocabulary for this Anti-American buffoon.

WoFat - I think that Obama could do every bit as good of a job at running Uganda as Dr./President/General Edi Amin Dada did. I firmly believe the he would fit right in with the corrupt and bankrupt government of Kenya. I could see Obama as the next Mobutu Sese Seko in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. There may be more corrupt despots on Africa, but Mobutu is there at the top.

Opus - There is precious little good to say about Obama. Metrosexuals praise him for his androgenous leanings. Communists find common cause with him. Racist Black leaders like that he's half black, but would prefer it if he was all black. But that's about it.

Gen. E.A. Dada was better at swinging a baseball bat than Pres. bing bang bong.

If this is proven top be true, the U.S. is done as a perceived world leader! If this President has in fact done what is charged in the leaked cables, he must be impeached immediately! As Pat asked above. Were the people in the Senate notified as required of this action? If so, why did the Senate vote to allow this to happen? Or is it possible this is another "we didn't read the entire thing" moment? If in fact the leaders of the Senate did in fact have knowledge of this action then they to should be brought up on charges!

Again, this is alleged but something I feel is in line with the actions of this Marxist we now have in the White House. Very scary!

LL, you aren't alone in feeling embarrassed by President Chaos. And as far as Obama making a good president for some 'small African country', perhaps that's why he's doing what he's doing to America: trying to turn it into a Third World nation because he's homesick?

Yes, Watcher, he's trying hard. And he has a lot of like minded sociopaths helping him. But I do retain faith in the American people and that was reinforced in the last election cycle.
