At the close of the Constitutional Convention in 1787, Dr. James McHenry, a Maryland delegate, followed Benjamin Franklin from Independence Hall. He recorded a question asked by a lady, directed at Dr. Franklin.

The lady asked, "Well Doctor, what have we got? A republic or a monarchy?"

"A republic," replied Dr. Franklin, "if you can keep it."

Obama Administration - A Broken Clock?

As the saying goes, "a broken clock is right twice a day." It's not a high standard of achievement to strive to be a broken clock. To date, the underwhelming success of the barack hussein obama regime hasn't met it, so I don't know why I'm even blogging about such a lofty ideal for the American Presidency.

One would think that dumb luck alone would propel you to do something right even if your intentions were less than honorable. Perhaps fate would intervene and the situation you planned to make worse would somehow (almost magically) turn out right?

Not so far, but we're only 1 1/2 years into a four year ordeal, so there is hope that obama can find it in his heart to do something noble or proper for its own sake.

His spiritual mentor of twenty years, Jeremiah Wright continually said, "God Damn America!" and I'm sure that it sunk into the rather dim and small intellect of obama. Perhaps at this point he operates on that principle as a default?

The "reverends" who obama gravitates toward all seem to be RINO (reverends in name only) style preachers who are known for their parasitic relationships toward their self-avowed black constituencies. Wright, Sharpton, Jackson and people like them seem to use the cloth as a shield to do and say anything -- no matter how outrageous -- and expect people to buy off on it. They, like follower obama, seem to be searching to reach the standard of the broken clock -- telling the truth twice a day. Alas, they share the record of the obama regime of never quite making even such a low threshold.

Meet Rep. Pete Stark (D-CA)

Meet Congressman Pete Stark (D-CA) >>CLICK HERE<<

This man makes me ashamed to live in California. I'm shocked that he could win election anywhere and hold office or do anything short of trimming trees or sweeping up refuse.

Mr. Stark, The Gentleman from California, feels that the border is secure as it's ever going to get and that there is no need to do anything more than has been done.

Fox News wrote: Stark earned his primary challenge after he slammed a constituent who voiced his opposition to Obama's health care plan last summer at a town hall meeting.
"Mr. Congressman, don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining," the constituent told Stark, referring to what he called the smoke and mirrors of the president's plan.
"I wouldn't dignify you be peeing on your leg," Stark fired back. "It wouldn't be worth wasting the urine."
He is a shameful cur, and it's disgraceful to see a man of this low character holding an office of honor, trust or responsibility in the United States.
In an August 23, 2008 video taped interview with Jan Halfeld concerning the size of the national debt, Stark stated that the size of the national debt is a reflection of the nation's wealth. When pressed if the nation should take on more debt in order to have more wealth, Stark threatened Halfeld and said, “You get the fuck out of here or I’ll throw you out the window.”
Mr. Stark is the LONGEST SERVING Congressman from California -- and the poster child for term limits. He blatantly flaunts House Rules and is the subject of an ethics committee investigation. We know that those sorts of things rarely result in discipline. For two years, Stark was allegedly claiming his lakefront Maryland home as his primary residence in order to claim a homestead exemption to reduce his local real estate taxes. Under Maryland law, in order to qualify, the owner must register to vote and drive in Maryland—Stark uses a California address for those purposes. On December 24, 2008, the House Ethics Committee began an investigation to Stark using his Maryland residence as his primary residence while claiming to live in San Lorenzo, where neighbors in the area Stark claims to live have never seen him. The home Stark claims to reside and also where he is registered to vote is actually owned and occupied by his in-laws. (SOURCE)

Al Gore's "Massage"

What started out as former Vice President Al Gore's request for a happy ending in  Washington State has become a training video in China! Watch it for yourselves.

Note that the girl is not at all impressed that he invented the Internet, saved the world from global warming and has received a Nobel Peace Prize (but hasn't everyone?) and an Oscar.

A crazed sex poodle? That's how the massage therapist described the former Vice President? No wonder Tipper dumped him and headed for greener pastures. I wonder if the presence of semen on the lady's (preserved) clothing has the former Vice President considering his response to these allegations. (HINT: Don't try, "I never had sexual relations with that woman!" It was tried before unsuccessfully.)

Do you miss Jimmy Carter?

Picture: h/t Odie and link to Dale here (CLICK)

I don't think that very many people would normally want a return of President Jimmy Carter or the "Carter Years". He campaigned on the platform of a 'competent and compassionate' government and more or less failed across the board. The US jobless rate was more than 10 per cent. Inflation touched 15 per cent. Soviet troops marched unmolested into Afghanistan. America watched helpless as its diplomats were held hostage by Iranian revolutionaries for 444 days. In the rest of the world, from Latin America to Asia, American power yielded to the communist advance; economically, America was bested by Japan and Germany.

And then there was the moment when the US President was almost felled by a killer rabbit. It struck one day in 1979 when President Carter was in the presidential dinghy on a fishing trip in Georgia. A large, evidently amphibious animal with big floppy ears and protuberant teeth swam boldly up to the President’s boat and had to be smacked away with a paddle (a nice metaphor in many respects: the President may have been up the creek but at least he still had his paddle).

Mr Carter’s defenders say: very well. Not our finest hour. But the world did not view us as a laughing stock the way they do under the boot of the barack hussein obama regime. Better to be pitied than despised!

The statistics on the Carter Administration were nauseating. Automobile prices increased 72%. New house prices went up 67%. In 1979 alone, gasoline prices increased 60%. The inflation rate went from 6.8% in 1977, to 7.6% in 1978, to 11.5% in 1979, to 12.4% in 1980. National productivity declined sharply. The unemployment rate was roughly what it is today under barack hussein obama. Interest rates soared. By the time Carter left office, the prime rate was 21.5% -- a new record.

On July 15, 1979, the television networks aired Carter’s infamous “Malaise Speech” --written by Chris Matthews, currently the host of “Hardball” -- which declared that the nation had reached a “crisis of confidence.” It was widely criticized as being a “huge depressant” at a time when America needed encouragement and a pep talk. Three days later, Carter called for the resignations of all of his Cabinet members. To further underscore the crisis atmosphere, he symbolically lowered the thermostats in the White House and other federal facilities to 65 degrees in the winter, and raised them in the summer to 78 degrees. Promotional pictures showing the President in a heavy sweater were supposed to inspire everyone to “follow the leader”. The national Christmas Tree was not lighted in 1979 and 1980. But few were impressed and even fewer were motivated.

In his first month in office, Carter cut the defense budget by $6 billion. He then proceeded to order a severe reduction in our forces stationed in South Korea to just 14,000 air force personnel. When Major General John Singlaug, chief of staff of our operations in South Korea, criticized the plan, Carter fired him. (Carter himself abandoned the plan after removing only 3,600 troops.)

It is Carter’s signature on the Panama Canal Treaty of 1977 which surrendered U.S. control of that waterway to the Panamanian government.

When the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan in 1979, Carter flexed the U.S. muscle, declaring: “Let our position be absolutely clear. An attempt by any outside force to gain control of the Persian Gulf region will be regarded as an assault on the vital interests of the United States of America, and such an assault will be repelled by any means necessary, including military force.” To show the Russians that he meant business, Carter prohibited our athletes from participating in the 1980 Olympics in Moscow which, of course, enabled the Soviets to capture even more gold medals.

And when you consider the last year and a half that obama has been in office -- you know -- I do miss Jimmy Carter. Carter was a Christian, not a closet Muslim. Carter wasn't a racist. Carter may have been completely incompetent, but he wasn't on a mission to damage the United States. Carter supported our ally, Israel. I could go on.

So as dismal as Carter's presidency was, obama is shaping up to be the very worst president in US history.

America's New War(s)

It's a war against the states.
"We're in the astounding period in our country's history where the federal government is at war with three states. The Interior Department will be suing the State of Louisiana over the oil moratorium, HHS will be suing the State of Virginia over the implementation of Obamacare, and the Justice Department will be suing the State of Arizona for having the audacity to duplicate federal law at the state level."-- Chris Stigall, June 23, 2010, KCMO-710 radio.  (h/t Crucis Court)
Time Magazine (CLICK HERE FOR LINK) published an article worth reading that discusses the financial state of most US States - bleeding red ink and virtually bankrupt. The only parallel that can be drawn is with America in the 1930's. Add to that increasing mandates of only partially funded federal programs that the States can't afford.

Illegal Aliens are a huge financial drain on many US States

This is not a war to defend the nation against a foreign invader. In fact the barack hussein obama administration encourages illegal aliens to invade and occupy the United States - because once given amnesty, they are more likely to vote for a Democratic candidate. The US Department of Labor is PAYING for an outreach program where ILLEGAL ALIENS are encouraged to turn in their employers for underpaying them. It's interesting because employing them is a felony...presumably the Labor Department will not refer employers for employing them to the Justice Department for prosecution. There is no hint of aiding the states hardest hit by the depredations of illegal aliens that the Federal Government refuses to apprehend.

So much for National Security

This is based on a Fox New Story. CLICK HERE for details.

How many of you trust our Afghan allies? Run around in circles and shout if you do.  If you don't, do you think that SOMEBODY should be watching those of them who are here in the US undergoing military training - learning to fly jets and so forth?

Apparently the Department of Homeland Security is too busy watching people who oppose illegal immigration, are returning veterans, retired police officers, those who are pro-life and the people who attend Tea Party Rallies (a really scruffy bunch). At least we know that's a priority of Secretary Janet Napolitano.

This from FOX NEWS:
The Afghans were attending the Defense Language Institute at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. The DLI program teaches English to military pilot candidates and other air force prospects from foreign countries allied with the U.S.
"I can confirm that 17 have gone missing from the Defense Language Institute," said Gary Emery, Chief of Public Affairs, 37th Training Wing, at Lackland AFB. "They disappeared over the course of the last two years, and none in the last three months."
Each Afghan was issued a Department of Defense Common Access Card, an identification card used to gain access to secure military installations, with which they "could attempt to enter DOD installations," according to the bulletin. (click the link above for the whole story)

Sometimes I ask myself how we can be SO FRIGGING INEPT. Then again, there is no "war on terror" under barack hussein obama. It's now a "foreign contingency operation". The obama regime has redesignated Islamic terrorist actions as "man-caused disasters".
The June 13, 2010 issue of Newsweek wrote, "The Obama administration is very sensitive to avoid alienating Muslims. In a draft of a report sponsored by the State and Defense departments and the RAND Corporation on dealing with the terrorist threat, the title was changed: the term “radical Islamism” became “violent extremism.” Obama officials even resist having a formal public strategy for dealing with Islamic radicalization because they don’t want to label the Muslim community as a security problem." (reported by: With Dafna Linzer and Sebastian Rotella from ProPublica, Christopher Dickey in New York, Daniel Klaidman, Michael Hirsh, John Barry, and Michael Isikoff in Washington, and Sami Yousafzai and Ron Moreau in Islamabad)
With this sort of leadership in Washington DC, is there any wonder that our "Islamic Allies" would be allowed to wander off base, off the radar and into the population with their Department of Defense IDs in hand.

Sleep well, America. Dear Leader would have you believe the real enemy is Israel.

Sheriff Richard Mack

I attended a Republican Party gathering on Election Night (primary election) last Tuesday. I met Richard Mack at the gathering but didn't know who he was. He stood with the Oathkeepers, an organization I personally support. This is what he has to say.

I'm sorry for not recognizing who you were and what you stand for, Sheriff Mack.

Whose side is barack hussein obama on?

If the choice is between Mexico and the United States, he sides with Mexico.

If the choice is between Iran and the United States, he sides with Iran.

If it has anything to do with Israel, he picks the terrorist states (pick one - he loves them all)

He's blood-brother close to Libyan strong man and dictator, Colonel Muammar Abu Minyar al-Gaddafi, Rhashid Khalid, Eduard Said, Ali Abunamih, Louis Farrakhan, Bill Ayers, Bernadette Dhorn, Helen Thomas, and last but not least in terms of influence, his own spiritual advisor of twenty-one years, Jeremiah (the chicken come home to roost on 911-God Damn America!) Wright. None of those people are friends of America -- they're only friends of barack hussein obama, and occasionally friends of each other and supporters of a common agenda that is absolutely opposed to our best interests.

At what point does the president's actions constitute treason? I don't think we're there yet, but we're only 16 months into a four year term and the trend isn't hopeful.

Is barack hussein obama brilliant?

Since barack hussein obama has pledged that anything that went wrong during his regime would be the fault of George W. Bush - let's take a walk back over the last sixteen long months of obama rule.

If George W. Bush had been the first President to need a teleprompter installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have laughed and said this is more proof of how inept he is on his own and is really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes?

If George W. Bush had spent tens of thousands of dollars to take Laura Bush to a play in NYC, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush bribed a retired US Admiral not to run against an incumbent he wanted in office, would you have been offended?

If George W. Bush had reduced your retirement plan's holdings of GM stock by 90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had given Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs, when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful and historically significant gift, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches, would you have thought this embarrassingly narcissistic and tacky?

If George W. Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the non-existent "Austrian language," would you have brushed it off as a minor slip?

If George W. Bush had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers with people who cannot seem to keep current in their income taxes, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had stated that there were 57 states in the United States, would you have said that he is just plain clueless.

If George W. Bush would have flown all the way to Denmark to make a five minute speech about how the Olympics would benefit him walking out his front door in Texas, would you have thought he was a self important, conceded, and egotistical horse's ass.

If George W. Bush had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to "Cinco de Cuatro" in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the 5th of May (Cinco de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again, would you have winced in embarrassment?

If George W. Bush completely ignored the worst environmental disaster in American history simply because the people impacted were not high propensity Republican Party voters - and he therefore didn't care what happened to them or their states - how would you have felt about him?

If George W. Bush had misspelled the word "advice" would you have hammered him for it for years like Dan Quayle and potato as proof of what a dunce he is?

If George W. Bush had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a single tree on Earth Day, would you have concluded he's a hypocrite?
If George W. Bush's administration had okayed Air Force One flying low over millions of people followed by a jet fighter in downtown Manhattan causing widespread panic, would you have wondered whether they actually get what happened on 9-11 ?

If George W. Bush had failed to send relief aid to flood victims throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless than in New Orleans, would you want it made into a major ongoing political issue with claims of racism and incompetence?

If George W. Bush had created the position of 32 Czars who report directly to him, bypassing the House and Senate on much of what is happening in America, would you have approved.

If George W. Bush had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had proposed to double the national debt, which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again within 10 years, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had instituted a system whereby you could report "fishy behavior" on the part of your neighbors to the White House where that information would be kept on file for whatever future use the government might find for it, how would you have reacted?

If George W. Bush and his administration had flaunted US Law to the extent that a US State (Arizona) had to take matters into their own hands to stem the flow of illegal immigrants into their neighborhoods, would you have approved?

Don't worry. barack hussein obama has done all this in just a bit over one year-- so you have three years to come up with an answer. And there is one thing you can be assured of. The 'daily outrages' by the obama regime will continue.
