At the close of the Constitutional Convention in 1787, Dr. James McHenry, a Maryland delegate, followed Benjamin Franklin from Independence Hall. He recorded a question asked by a lady, directed at Dr. Franklin.

The lady asked, "Well Doctor, what have we got? A republic or a monarchy?"

"A republic," replied Dr. Franklin, "if you can keep it."

Gift Giving

I've been trying to come up for the perfect Christmas gift. This is one option...

It has the virtue of being endorsed by the Democratic Party!

Oh this is so true. I'm getting sick of hearing it, but it's so true. I don't think it's working as well as the left would like it to though. It's getting pretty OLD.

Have a terrific day. :)

So much for intelligent thought being a component of this virtue. I am so sick of the race card excuse being used whenever the lib hasn't got a leg to stand on in a debate. Libs have pretty much rendered the racism charge as meaningless - they have cried wolf too many times.

I'd like to have a white race card (since I'm white) for Christmas -- to use as an excuse for everything from a flat tire to not having exact change. It would be a useful gift...

I was trying not to laugh knowing how much sad truth is involved here.

The left tried to sell class warfare last week. It fell flat. They tried to sell racism for the past two years. They were defeated in a landslide.

Dems are sucking wind.
