At the close of the Constitutional Convention in 1787, Dr. James McHenry, a Maryland delegate, followed Benjamin Franklin from Independence Hall. He recorded a question asked by a lady, directed at Dr. Franklin.

The lady asked, "Well Doctor, what have we got? A republic or a monarchy?"

"A republic," replied Dr. Franklin, "if you can keep it."

More Joy for 2010?

What is in store for 2010? I honestly don't know since there has been a "daily outrage factor" for the Obama presidency this past year. I spoke to a friend who voted for Barack Hussein Obama last year and equated 2009 with "the Carter Years" in its bleakness. She reminded me that her, candidate, Obama, had only been in office for one year.

YES, that's my point, I continued. This one year feels like ALL of the miserable Carter years. What are the next three going to feel like?

While listening to an Sirius AP news break during Hannity yesterday, they said over 50% of the Republicans polled believe things will get better in 2010. Over 80% of Democrats believed they will get better. This tells me they didn't ask anybody with any economical common sense. There is going to be a huge price to pay for Obama's spending and printing money for many years to come. I am not quite as optimistic, but I hope for the best.

This post is both a succinct perspective and the location of the best "Superbower" pic that I have seen so far.
