At the close of the Constitutional Convention in 1787, Dr. James McHenry, a Maryland delegate, followed Benjamin Franklin from Independence Hall. He recorded a question asked by a lady, directed at Dr. Franklin.

The lady asked, "Well Doctor, what have we got? A republic or a monarchy?"

"A republic," replied Dr. Franklin, "if you can keep it."

Dr. Obama's Cure

Que: Cher - Gypseys, Tramps and Thieves

There is no such thing as a free lunch, though the utopian socialists would bark to you from the medicine wagon that there are. These are the people who can't tell you how many jobs they "created" with $800 BILLION taxpayer dollars. How can we trust them with an experimental $2 TRILLION healthcare blank check?

We must fight this one to the end. Wish I could go to DC on Thursday with Michelle Bachman. Hope it's a huge turnout.

Giving them 2 trillion is like selling them the rope with which to hang us.

We cannot trust them, and every rational adult knows it. Has anyone noticed that we haven’t seen too many stories about "buyer's remorse" and this president in the past two months? It makes me wonder how many rational adults are left in this country.

Great cartoon!
"Won't cost a dime." Yup, it'll cost billions of dimes! Does anybody really believe this won't stack up more debt?

Wonderful cartoon. Captures it perfectly.

Agreed.
ObamaCare would be the opposite of a free lunch. We'll pay dearly to sit at the table, but we'll go home with empty stomachs.

Awesome!

And to follow up on Arby's note: we don't see "Buyers Remorse" and this president because this president owns the media. Well, he doesn't "own" it own it. But 99.9% of the media falls on their faces to worship the ground he walks on. Of COURSE we're not going to see any buyer's remorse stories.

Now if he were a Republican president, well... That's a different story.

But if he were a Republican president, this wouldnt' be an issue anyway...
