Everyone thought George W. Bush grew the US Government at a staggering rate with more bureaucracy and debt. Barack Hussein Obama makes Bush look like a piker. Printing more money and buying back our own treasury bonds so that we can hire more government employees and generate more government programs makes no sense to me at all. I see no improvement in government service with the astronomical expansion of the Federal Government.
Am I near-sighted? Am I the only one who sees no cause and effect to the rabid expansion of the government under Obama?
Bigger government is certainly more expensive than smaller government, but where is the qualitative pay-off?

Bush paved the way for Obama to do this to our nation by destroying conservatism and jettioning free market principles. Obama is much worse, of course but Bush in many ways is culpable!
You're absolutely correct. The Republicans are to blame for setting the stage for the ObamaNation.
Back before the election, my liberal friends and I agreed that maybe we could finally get a liberal back in office and get the deficit under control.
Oops!
You're right. The Republicans did set the stage - for more than just an exploding deficit. For indefinite detentions, for unaccountable government, for letting lobbyists write legislation, etc., etc.
Obama ran on "change." He said he was a liberal. What a disappointment. He governs just like a Republican.
Seda, you are on the ball on this one. The Republicans and the Democrats taken as groups, not as individuals are more or less the same. Obama represented himself as a moderate but he never was. In his book, DREAMS OF MY FATHER, he outlined that his heroes were Marxists. I'm not making this up. It's in the book.
We need strict fiscal control and we need to reduce spending and the size of government not only for ourselves but for the future generations who will be writing the checks to pay for our follies.
