At the close of the Constitutional Convention in 1787, Dr. James McHenry, a Maryland delegate, followed Benjamin Franklin from Independence Hall. He recorded a question asked by a lady, directed at Dr. Franklin.

The lady asked, "Well Doctor, what have we got? A republic or a monarchy?"

"A republic," replied Dr. Franklin, "if you can keep it."

ACORN vs PATRIOTS

ACORN vs Patriots at the Kittanning, Pennsylvania Town Hall Meeting. (hat tip to Hot Air Pundit)

Acorn supplied two busses for its Quislings. Many people in Western Pennsylvania were tipped off to the possibility of Obama hirelings being shipped in and were in front of the town hall meeting.

I couldn't help but notice the racial demographics on the bus. Are black people being used as tools of this administration? I know they're paid by-the-day to protest, but is there a reason why they were almost all black? Maybe they just needed the day job holding their fancy machine printed signs?

The Patriots looked to me like regular people who live in the area. I wonder if any of them will vote for Obama or Specter next time?

Do you think they were sugar-coating it when they chanted "DON'T COME BACK" to the hired ACORN agitators?

Don't Come Back was followed by Get a Real Job. The hypocrisy of this admin, accusing patriots of being "astroturf" instead of grassroots, then bussing in their own supporters is SO over the top.

The Psychological projection is not surprising. It is a common theme with the left. Remember the Clintons accusing everybody of plotting against them (vast right wing conspiracy, politics of personal desctruction)? Meanwhile, they were seeking out enemies and systematically destroying them.

Good Post. This shows that we can fight back. Manufactured outrage is never a match for the real thing.

So where is the proof that these people were hired by Obama or even from ACORN!!!??? I mean you can speculate about anything to try to prove your point. And if these were normal every day people, why do they not have the same right as the "patriots" to demonstrate for what they feel is right???

Proof: They were ALL wearing red ACORN t-shirts. Watch the video again.

Sure they had the right to wear the ACORN t-shirts, collect their box lunches and their "envelope", board the chartered busses and be driven two hours from the inner city to rural Pennsylvania to chant and demonstrate. It's America. They have freedom of speech the same as you and I.

Are they sincere? Who can tell given the scenario above?

Amanda, I understand that you are a socialist. I've read your many defenses of socialism on Opus #6's blog and I have no problem with you stating you opinion. It's America. It's ok to be a socialist, a communist or a Constitutionalist as I am. We are a diverse people.

However in the scenario the video paints, it looks a bit over-the-top to be something I can consider to be sincere on the part of the ACORN people. They were hired to do a job. They did their job.

And if "I" was hired and bussed by a third party to a demonstration, handed a sign as I got off the bus and shouted - how sincere would you think I was?

I must laugh at the thought that you think I am a socialist... far from the truth, you do not know me at all... I don't think Opus does either... Maybe you are so far to the right that anything to the center or slightly left of center is socialism to you?

Socialist is as socialist does.
Capitalist is as capitalist does.

I wasn't trying to brand you with a tag you were uncomfortable with, Amanda. I don't know you.

Many of us (and I include myself in this group) feel that there is very little difference between the Republican Party (taken as a whole) and the Democratic Party (taken as a whole). Both are for unrestrained spending. Both are for increasing the size of government to an obscene degree. Each more or less disregard devolving some Constitutionally mandated functions of government to the States.

Amanda, I don't recommend doing the Tango with LL unless you have taken a lot of dance classes.
