I wonder why he did that?
Yes, I do know the answer. By inviting the government into the health care of every single American, the government obtains control over your treatment, your records, your very life. It's tough to take your freedom while you have control over your life.
Some citizens of this country are without regular health care. They can avail themselves of public healthcare under the present system without cost and there IS a safety net in place. Is it perfect? No. Then again Senator Obama voted against measures to fix it.

Why are we RUSHING headlong into a system that everybody knows will bankrupt the nation (further)? Why is the legislature being advised, "Don't read it, sign it!"?
The Federal Government has no business taking over private healthcare. They have no business dabbling in everything the states wish to do in accordance with the Constitution. However it's all about control and most of us don't wish to invite the government into our affairs any more than they have already interposed themselves.

Can't we send them all on a very extended vacation somewhere? The cost would be negligible compared to what they spend when they are in session.
Edited to add, I was just given the word verification word, "butso". This is an INSULT!
